Pearl Perfumery has been a dream of mine for many years.

 

The journey began when I was a child with a fascination and passion for the scents that surrounded me. Fine fragrances beckoned from any unattended dressing table. My Grandmother’s cottage garden full of the classically beautiful scents of roses, jonquils and magnolia was nestled in Australian bushland with the heady aromas of the distinctively different native trees and flowers.

Whether it was Mum’s Arpège, or the flowers picked from my Nana’s garden, I was in love with the scented world.

 

When I read “The Emperor of Scent” by Chandler Burr, a true story about a brilliant scientist and perfume obsessive, Luca Turin, my passion was ignited. I knew I must create perfume, in a way that reflected the unique journey of others, so they too could experience their own sacred scent. I recently met Chandler Burr and had the opportunity to thank him for writing the book that changed my life.

 

Smell is often the forgotten sense, but can be the most evocative. A few molecules floating on the air can flood the mind with pictures, bring a tang to the taste buds, set your heart racing or bring a smile to your lips. Perfume speaks to the soul.
